The kids are asleep and my husband isn't home. Just grabbing any old drink out of the fridge would make me feel like a cliche... but what if I prepare something soothing and delicious. A scrumptious hot beverage. Well that is much better I think. Not one bit the cliche.
Here is what tonight's cupboard contents offered.
Hot Apple Jack
- Serves: 1 (multiply as needed)
- Prep Time: 3 or 4 minutes
- Total Time: 3 or 4 minutes
Seeing as how there is a chill in the air, why not warm up the party!
Ingredients
- 4-5 oz. Apple Cider
- 1 1/2 oz. Jack Daniels (or any other sour mash whiskey)
- 1 orange slice
- 1 tsp brown sugar (for the rim)
- 1 dash of cinnamon or cinnamon stick
Instructions
1. Rim the glass with the orange slice and then the brown sugar.
2. Heat the cider however you want just drinkable hot, do not boil.
3. Add JD to the mug, and then hot cider.
4. Stir well and top with a dash of cinnamon or cinnamon stick
